20151129 PFN Birding
The Peterborough Field Naturalists (PFN) had 10 members led by Martin Parker go birding to several locations between Peterborough and Rice Lake. The focus was on late season migrating Waterfowl and Gulls. Rice Lake provided the best counts and included species such as: Common Merganser, Common Goldeneye, Canada Goose, Ring-billed Gull and Common Loon. Later we stopped near a farm pond that had a large flock of Canada Goose. Cackling Goose were also identified but I did not see them. Little Lake was supposed to have a Redhead but it did not show for us. The Mallards came looking for food.
