20160616 Ballyduff Trails
I was introduced to the Ballyduff Trails by Kim Clark while she conducted her bird count. The data collected was to be submitted to the property owners Ralph McKim and Jean Garsonnin who have generously shared their property through a conservation easement with the Kawartha Land Trust. Further information can be found by searching for the McKim-Garsonnin Property under Property Profiles on the KLT website ( http://www.kawarthalandtrust.org).
During our walk there were several species of birds in song but the numbers of birds singing had declined compared to early June. I photographed locations along the trails and several sites with birds or mammal sign. Some of the highlites included Ruffed Grouse dust baths, Blue Jay tracks and a Red Squirrel trail.
