20160706 Widow Skimmer
The photographs in this gallery show a recently emerged adult Widow Skimmer dragonfly. It was found near its exuviae along the waterfront and gently directed to climb the board so it could be removed to a safer location. It was not handled during the photo shoot. What is remarkable is how light the wing patches are which later on would appear black. This dragonfly appears to be an immature male.
