A flock of nine Common Nighthawks were observed flying over the south end of Chemong Lake. They were feeding on flying ants. Light levels were low and the birds were too high for good photos. They are presented here just for the record. The third photo is a cropped image to zoom in on the lower wing patch which is a key ID feature of the Common Nighthawk.
