A mid-July trip to Sandy Lake Rd was OK for butterflies. The road shoulders had been trimmed, conditions were very dry and consequently the butterfly numbers were less than normal. Highlight species included Gray Hairstreak and Orange Sulphur. The Deerflies were bad!
