Despite difficult trail conditions and crusty snow, Willow Beach Field Naturalists (WBFN) members were able to observe several mammal and bird tracks and sign: Eastern Cottontail, Red Squirrel, Eastern Chipmunk, Beaver, Raccoon, Coyote and Pileated Woodpecker. In addition to the sign we were treated to calls, flights and foraging in dead trees by two Pileated Woodpeckers. Among the 13 species submitted to eBird was a Bald Eagle in flight.
